Job Summary
Southern Autos United and Music Motors are looking for a reliable, hands-on part-time Lot Technician / Mechanic to join our team. You'll be responsible for keeping our inventory reconditioned, road-ready, and lot-presentable. This is a no-drama, show-up-and-get-paid role. We move cars fast and need someone who can keep up.
What You'll Do
- Perform minor mechanical work: oil changes, brake jobs, fluid flushes, belt replacements, light replacements
- Move and organize vehicles on the lot daily
- Assist with pre-sale recon — inspect units and flag issues to management
- Stage vehicles for photography and customer walkarounds
- Communicate clearly on vehicle status and estimated completion times
- Cut grass
What We're Looking For
- 1+ year of hands-on mechanical experience (dealership, shop, or independent)
- Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic
- Own basic hand tools (floor jack a plus)
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Honest — if you can't fix it, say so
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, flexible start time (morning preferred)
- Approximately 4 hours/day, 5 days/week
- Occasional Saturday availability a plus
Compensation
- $14–$16/hour based on experience
- Bonuses considered on performance
- Paid weekly
- Part-time (no benefits at this time)
