SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
A Retail Banking Manager is responsible for the management of a branch and the branch’s Retail Team of Retail Bankers and Tellers. The Retail Banking Manager drives all facets of service, sales and operations by coaching and motivating their team to exhibit excellent customer service, achieve sales targets, acquire new consumer and business customers, initiate referrals to other departments and deepen all existing customer relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the sales, service, operation and financial direction of the branch.
- Motivates the Retail Team to provide excellent customer service and effectively resolve customer issues.
- Builds, coaches, develops, leads and motivates a team of Retail Bankers who are capable of analyzing customer needs and recommending financial solutions that create lasting relationships.
- Establishes a team environment where Bank strategies are communicated, an open two-way dialogue is encouraged, and best practice sharing is prevalent; promotes collaboration at both the direct report level and within branches.
- Works with the Director of Retail Banking to develop individual branch growth and profitability goals and meet or exceed the established goals by ensuring the branch retail team is using appropriate sales and service processes in all interactions.
- Participates in the development and implementation of training and marketing initiatives. Works closely with other departments on projects and initiatives.
- Leads the Retail Team in the process of referring customers to other areas of the bank in order to deepen relationships and build strong internal partnerships.
- Proactively drives relationship building through outside calling, centers of influence, community outreach, referrals from customers and other partners.
- Ensures that the branch is staffed with highly motivated sales and service-focused personnel and holds each branch accountable for performance management, development and retention.
- Responsible for hiring, coaching, discipline, performance reviews, promotions and salary recommendations of direct reports.
- Follows all security protocol to ensure the safety of staff and security of the bank’s assets.
- Monitors operational efficiencies and compliance within the branch.
- Attends all meetings and conference calls as prescribed, completes required courses when due, and takes ownership of their own learning experience.
- May also lend in one or more of these areas: Commercial, Mortgage, Ag.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3 years of sales experience in retail banking, financial services or goal driven retail sales or a combination of a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of sales experience in retail banking, financial services or goal driven retail sales.
