American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license, working 4x9.5-hour day shifts every other weekend.

Hospital-based PACU setting

Diverse surgical patient population including general surgery (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, bowel resection), orthopedics (total joints, fracture repair), urology (cystoscopy, TURP, TURBT, ablation, robotic), spine (ACDF, PLIF), neurosurgery (tumor, CVA/TIA), vascular (TAVR, FEVAR, amputation, stents), endoscopy (ERCP), and plastics (mastectomy, corrective surgery)

Day shift schedule: 4x9.5-hour shifts (9:00–18:30)

Every other weekend required

No on-call requirements

Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed

Active GA or compact RN license required

Minimum 3 years of PACU nursing experience required

Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred

First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Local candidates are accepted

RTO is capped at 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them and may request one holiday off for approval

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule changes are permitted — the posted shift is firm

Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler

Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time
