Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), fostering an inclusive learning environment, and supporting students with diverse needs, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, and other special needs. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver tailored lesson plans that meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with parents, therapists, and other educational professionals.
- Incorporate speech therapy, behavioral therapy, and learning technology to enhance student engagement and progress.
- Adapt curriculum materials to accommodate various learning styles and developmental levels, including preschool and toddler care.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Support early intervention efforts and work with children at different stages of childhood development.
- Facilitate communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and behavioral health concerns.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive support for students with disabilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student performance, attendance, and behavioral records in compliance with educational standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Childhood Development, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification/license for special education or equivalent credentials.
- Proven experience working with children with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or behavioral health challenges.
- Strong classroom management skills and experience in lesson planning tailored to diverse learners.
- Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, behavioral management strategies, literacy education, math instruction, and use of learning technology.
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring processes.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, therapists, and colleagues.
- Experience working in early childhood education settings such as preschool or daycare is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for children with various needs including deaf education or Montessori approaches is a plus.

Pay: $58,830.80 - $70,850.00 per year
