Oracle Backend DBA
Location- Washington, DC (Hybrid)

The Senior Oracle Backend DBA is responsible for the stability, performance, security, and lifecycle management of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) 12.2.12 and its supporting database tiers. This role manages all backend database operations—including patching, cloning, tuning, disaster recovery, and high-availability—ensuring the EBS platform remains resilient and compliant as it transitions into the broader UNIFI operations framework referenced in the EBS Transformation Kick-Off Meeting.
Oracle DB Administration — Administer Oracle databases supporting EBS 12.2.12 across RAC and standalone environments.
Performance Tuning — Perform SQL, instance, memory, storage, and indexing tuning to maintain optimal responsiveness.
Storage & Statistics Management — Manage tablespaces, partitions, optimizer statistics, and segment housekeeping.
Database Issue Resolution — Diagnose and resolve failures, locking issues, and performance degradation.
EBS Backend Schema Support — Support APPS, APPLSYS, workflow schemas, concurrent processing schemas, and tech stack objects.
Backend Readiness for Customizations — Collaborate with EBS Admins to ensure backend readiness for customizations, RICEW deployments, and migrations aligned with UNIFI expectations.
Database & Tech Stack Patching — Execute CPU/PSU/RU patching and EBS tech stack updates (AD/TXK).
ADOP/EBR Compliance — Manage ADOP cycles ensuring editioned objects and DB components meet EBR requirements.
Environment Cloning — Perform cloning, sanitization, post?clone steps, and application tier re-linking across DEV/TEST/PROD.
RMAN Strategy — Develop and maintain RMAN backup strategies and retention policies.
Disaster Recovery — Implement DR solutions and participate in DR planning/testing.
High Availability — Ensure HA through RAC, DG/ADG configurations, and proactive monitoring.
Database Security Enforcement — Enforce access control, auditing, TDE encryption, SSL, and patch compliance.
Audit & Logging Support — Support auditing, logging, and data?protection requirements.
Compliance Alignment — Work with governance teams to maintain SoD and compliance alignment.
Database Health Monitoring — Monitor DB health, growth, performance, and critical metrics.
Incident Management — Support P1/P2 break fix issues related to the database or EBS backend.
Operational Readiness — Provide readiness support consistent with transformation goals from the EBS Kick Off Meeting.
Oracle DBA Experience — 8–10+ years Oracle DBA experience; 5+ years supporting EBS R12.2.x.
Core Oracle Technologies — Strong expertise in Oracle 12c/19c, SQL tuning, ASM, OEM, and RAC.
EBS Backend Expertise — Hands?on support for schemas, workflows, concurrent managers, and backend integrations.
ADOP/EBR Mastery — Deep knowledge of editioned objects and online patching cycles.
HA/DR Architecture — Proficiency with RMAN, Data Guard, backup/recovery, and HA/DR architectures.
ERP Lifecycle Management — Experience supporting mission?critical ERP systems across multiple environments.
Shell Scripting — Strong Linux/Unix shell scripting and automation capabilities.
OCI EBS Experience — Experience with OCI hosted or hybrid EBS environments.
OIC Workload Exposure — Exposure to OIC integrated environments and backend workload impacts.
ERP Modernization Planning — Knowledge of architecture planning for ERP modernization or large scale EBS transformations.
Position Details:
- Pay Rate / Range:$65-$80/hr
The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
