Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty truck diesel engines and construction tractors. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably. Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals and JPRO.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, and diesel truck engines to maximize uptime and operational efficiency.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using welding and power tools to meet specific operational requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and vehicle systems for trucks and industrial machinery.
- Assist with tire service, brake repair, and suspension adjustments to ensure safety standards are met or exceeded.
- Utilize automotive electrical system repair techniques including soldering and wiring diagnostics to resolve electrical faults.
- Support equipment assembly, maintenance tasks, heavy lifting operations, and welding projects with precision and safety consciousness.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering solutions that enhance operational performance.
Experience
- Proven diesel experience or extensive background working with heavy truck repair or industrial equipment maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with general fabrication of parts or modifications for diesel truck or other heavy machinery.
- Familiarity with reading schematics and technical manuals related to Caterpillar equipment or similar brands.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools for automotive electrical systems and mechanical repairs.
- Demonstrated ability to perform vehicle maintenance tasks including tire service, brake repairs, alignment procedures, shocks & struts replacement.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation combined with mechanical expertise in diesel engine repair and transmission servicing.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to air brake systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems on industrial vehicles or farm machinery.
- Previous experience working in an environment requiring heavy lifting and precise troubleshooting skills is highly valued.
