In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Experience and knowledge in the field of hospital architecture design and construction.
- Experience and familiarity with Title 24, including OSHPD requirements, as it relates to the construction of health facilities.
- Knowledge and experience in interpreting requirements governing design and construction of healthcare facilities in California.
- Experience conducting research, producing, and evaluating technical construction documentation.
- Knowledge of California Accessibility Requirements.
- Knowledge of fire/life safety compliance based on Title 24 of the CCRs.
- Knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing systems in healthcare facilities
- Knowledge and experience as a project manager directing, reviewing, and evaluating the work and resolving issues with a multi-disciplinary team, clients, contractors, and other technical and professional staff.
- Experience conducting construction observation of hospital or healthcare facilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multi-disciplined team and handle stressful or sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to handle code enforcement issues with architects, engineers, and health care facility owners.
- Good writing and oral communication skills.
- Ability to reason logically and creatively to resolve problems and develop and evaluate alternatives.
- Clean driving record. Must submit official driving history from the California Department of Motor Vehicles prior to appointment.
- Being able to travel to and conduct in-person site visits to healthcare facilities (up to five days a week) in the following (South LA Region) counties: Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
