The Manchester Housing Authority of Manchester, Georgia is now accepting applications/resumes for the position of Maintenance Mechanic. The incumbent must be able to perform a variety of skilled, journeyman" level, maintenance tasks in connection with repairs to and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment. Work involves knowledge and skill in areas of plumbing, electricity, carpentry, masonry, refrigeration, HVAC repair, painting, and minor drywall work required. Individual will operate simple hand tools and small-motorized equipment such as stripping machines. Individual must have the ability to move or carry up to 70 pounds with or without the assistance of a hand truck or additional persons. Individual will be responsible for supervising part-time personnel and working with and/or assisting the activities of other contractors, performing annual and preventative maintenance inspections of units and buildings and other special projects. The individual in this position may be required to work under hazardous conditions such as heat, cold, dust, dirt, and small-restricted areas. This position requires possession of a valid Georgia Driver's license and applicant must be able to be placed under our fidelity bond and to be covered under insurance policies of the Housing Authority. High school diploma or GED is required, a criminal history, and drug screening will be done before hire.
