Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Light Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of light diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably transportation. Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on light diesel engines, including troubleshooting issues with fuel systems, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical components.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as Semi-tractors and trailers.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to accurately identify problems and execute precise repairs.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Service and repair vehicle systems including air brakes, suspension systems, shocks & struts, HVAC units, and tire services.
- Conduct alignments, wheel balancing, and hydraulic system repairs to maintain safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of all service work performed and communicate effectively with team members or customers regarding repair status or recommendations.
Skills
- Proven experience working as a diesel mechanic familiar in diesel engine repair.
- Proficiency in diagnostics using schematics and electronic testing tools.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation
- Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, HVAC systems, and tire service.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding (SMAW/MIG/TIG), soldering, and assembly of mechanical parts.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, service equipment, and maintenance devices efficiently.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems related to heavy machinery
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.36 per hour
