Key responsibilities:
- Deliver structured, engaging small-group phonics and reading lessons via Zoom for groups of up to four elementary students, following provided step-by-step curriculum and lesson plans.
- Maintain instructional fidelity to structured literacy and Science of Reading approaches, including explicit, systematic phonics instruction.
- Administer routine assessments, accurately record results, monitor student progress, and document outcomes using established tools and reporting procedures.
- Provide timely, actionable feedback to students and school partners to support literacy growth.
- Create and sustain a positive, orderly virtual learning environment that promotes student engagement and on-task behavior.
- Participate in required training, curriculum orientation, and periodic coaching to ensure consistent instructional quality.
- Maintain professional communication and reliability regarding scheduling, attendance, and session preparation.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Authorization to work and current residence in the United States.
- Proficiency with Zoom and common digital teaching tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to connect effectively with elementary-aged students.
- Dependability in meeting scheduled sessions and maintaining professional standards in a remote instructional setting.
Preferred qualifications (not required):
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Degree or coursework in education, literacy, English, or a related field.
- Experience teaching early reading, phonics, or K–3 instruction and familiarity with structured literacy methods.
