Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and supporting the overall financial health of our clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with QuickBooks online, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and contributing to the smooth operation of our financial processes. Responsibilities
- Record and process journal entries accurately using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online and credit card processing platforms such as Stripe, Authorize.net and Cybersource.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure data integrity across all accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment scheduling.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, for monthly board meetings
- Conduct payroll processing in compliance with relevant regulations and maintain payroll records meticulously.
- Assist with budgeting activities by analyzing expenses and revenues to support financial planning efforts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, governmental regulations, and organizational policies through diligent account analysis and account reconciliation.
- Coordinate with tax professionals to support tax prep.
Skills
- Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting practices, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and public accounting principles.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis, report writing, and account analysis.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting.
- Experience with tax preparation, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation procedures.
- Familiarity with financial concepts such as budgeting, cash and accrual accounting procedures, account analysis, account reconciliation, and financial report writing.
- Excellent organizational skills combined with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial transactions.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating across teams and preparing clear financial documentation.
- Experience with non-profit organizations a plus.
