The Registered Dietitian is primarily accountable for delivering high quality nutrition care by evaluating patient needs, developing and monitoring nutrition plans, educating patients and staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional standards. Additionally, they collaborate with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes and support overall wellness initiatives for the Moses Lake Community Health Center WIC program.
Responsibilities

Perform eligibility verification and provide the appropriate certification with prospective and current WIC participants.

Establishes and supports participants in managing personal high-risk care plans by collaborating with them to develop goals that promote improved health outcomes.

Prescribes and issues food benefits based on participant needs by conducting comprehensive nutrition assessments, providing education to WIC participants on changing nutrition through life stages, and approving and processing Medical Documentation Forms from participants' medical providers.

Encourages and promotes breastfeeding in accordance with WIC program guidelines, including conducting required breastfeeding reviews prior to issuing formula.

Supports the Social Services Director to design and implement the Nutrition Services Plan for MLCHC and maintains appropriate nutrition education materials for WIC Staff and participants.

Consistently exhibits Moses Lake Community Health Center's Service Standards with patients and co-workers.

Consistently contributes to a work environment that is supportive and values the contributions of everyone.

Performance of the duties and responsibilities of the job requires the equivalent of formal training in Nutrition usually in the form of a major in Food Science Nutrition with Dietetics specialization as part of a Master's Degree program.

Must have completed required supervised practice/experience through an ACEND-accredited Dietetic Internship, Coordinated Program, Graduate Program, or an Individualized Supervised Practice Pathway offered through an ACEND-accredited program.

Must pass a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Must maintain ongoing professional development through continuing education in order to stay up to date on the latest research, recommendations and best practices.

Washington State Dietitian and Nutritionist license.

Travel between work sites required. Must have reliable transportation and provide documentation of auto insurance and valid driver's license as required.
