We are currently seeking qualified Special Education Teachers for school-based opportunities throughout the Greater Chicago area.
Position Overview
As a School-Based Special Education Teacher, you will support students with diverse learning needs by developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs). You will collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure students receive appropriate academic and behavioral support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students with disabilities
- Provide direct instruction in inclusive and specialized settings
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Conduct progress monitoring and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education
- Active Illinois Special Education teaching license (or eligibility to obtain)
- School-based experience preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
