Position Summary: Responsible for the accuracy of sampling, testing, measuring, recording, and analyzing production results, in addition to supervising the daily activities of the Lab Tech.
Responsiblities:
- Follows up and verifies that task assignments and work instructions are being completed accurately, while seeking ways to improve efficiency and update work instructions as needed.
- Promotes health, safety, and environmental regulations by ensuring that standards, policies, and procedures are adhered to in compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Promotes the quality system through adhering to the elements of and being familiar with the business policy, goals, quality manual, and procedures.
- Provides post project summaries to the Quality Manager and Plant manager that include basic analysis/feedback of what occurred during the project.
- Oversees lab personnel and functions relating to the execution of lab tests to produce reliable data ensuring products conform to company requirements, customer requirements and industry standards.
- Mentors and trains other Lab Techs to help further their value while promoting growth.
- Assigns projects and expectations to the Lab Techs following work assignments assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Provides weekly and monthly reports, summarizing the test results and providing explanations for any occurrence (data points) found outside of standards.
- Ensures that routine tasks are performed accurately and follows strict methodologies to carry out analyses.
- Ensures proper preparation of specimens and samples is being performed.
- Interprets test results and relays them to Quality Manager, Production Manager/Supervisor and Plant Manager.
- Acts as a leader in place of the Quality Manager when the Quality Manager is unavailable or out of the office.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of High School diploma or GED required.
- Has met the competency requirements for a Lab Tech I – III (internally) or a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Quality Lab in a production environment.
- Effectively plans and organizes work to get efficient and effective results.
- Leads in the achievement of team obligations.
- Requires working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- ERP system experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferably in a production environment.
- B.S. in related field preferred.
