Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Panel Builder to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling electrical control panels, ensuring all components are correctly installed and wired according to schematics and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, with experience in PCB assembly, soldering, and working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Duties
- Assemble electrical control panels by following detailed schematics and wiring diagrams
- Install and wire components such as circuit boards, relays, switches, and connectors
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other machining equipment to accurately assemble panels
- Solder surface mount technology (SMT) components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) in compliance with IPC 610 standards
- Verify electrical connections using ohmmeters and other testing devices to ensure proper functionality
- Maintain mechanical integrity of panels through proper mounting and securing of components
- Conduct inspections to ensure assemblies meet quality standards and industry regulations
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret schematics and troubleshoot wiring or assembly issues
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace adhering to safety protocols
- Assist in continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
Experience
- Proven experience in electrical panel assembly or related manufacturing roles
- Strong understanding of PCB design, schematic reading, and electrical wiring practices
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their integration within control panels
- Knowledge of IPC 610 standards for electronic assemblies and surface mount technology (SMT)
- Hands-on experience with soldering techniques, both through-hole and surface mount components
- Mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, and machining equipment
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical drawings
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools
- Prior exposure to manufacturing environments emphasizing quality control and safety standards
