POSITION OVERVIEW
The Woori Juntos Civic Engagement Organizer educates community members on important voting information with Texas residents, and speaks directly with them in person through door knocking, phone banking, tabling and site based canvassing at events in our Woori Juntos impacted community bases.
The Civic Engagement Organizer will work as part of the Woori Juntos team, and will report to the Woori Juntos Senior Civic Engagement Coordinator.

Founded in 2001, MSC is a social and environmental justice incubator, serving as a movement hub for visionaries and emergent networks. Today, MSC provides intermediary functions to advance ecosystem-wide impact by resourcing a robust and maturing ecosystem of leaders, networks and projects, and offering infrastructure support through fiscal sponsorship and philanthropic services.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (95%)
- Effectively inform community members on important voting information and deadlines through in-person canvassing via (including but not limited to) tabling, site based community events, phonebanking, textbanking, and blockwalking (speaking to voters in person or on the phone)
- Use technology to ensure accurate and timely data entry
- Complete daily and weekly reports on progress for goals and metrics
- Represent Woori Juntos with professionalism and ethical conduct
OTHER (5%)
- Submit daily timesheets
- Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE
Direct Experience
- 1+ years of experience in voter engagement, including: blockwalking, phonebanking, and textbanking voters;
Data Management and Technology
- Proficiency in and comfortable using Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Zoom for daily tasks and communication;
- Proficiency with organizing software and technologies (e.g., Getthru, Mobilize, Impactive, VAN);
Relationships and Coalition Building
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written;
- Ability to work well in coalitions;
- An orientation towards learning and development; willing to learn from mistakes, receive feedback, and give feedback to others;
- Enjoys both listening to and sharing ideas and opinions;
Community-Centered Values
- Strong vision of community empowerment and deep commitment to change the world with diverse impacted immigrant communities;
- Believes that impacted immigrant community members can and should lead organizing and advocacy campaigns;
- Strong understanding of issues Asian and Latine communities are facing and how it intersects with all impacted communities including people of color, women, and LGBTQIA+ communities.
- Commitment to transparent, respectful, and equitable communication in multilingual spaces
Language Skills
- Bilingual in English and an Asian Language (priority of Korean or Vietnamese) or Spanish.
LOCATION
This is an onsite role based in Houston, TX with 2 remote days per week.

- Walking outside in the elements, going up and down stairs
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Occasional carrying, pulling, or pushing up to 20 lbs of supplies, materials, and/or equipment during events
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This role does not supervise other employees.
EXPECTED HOURS
Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 11a.m. to 7p.m. Daily schedule is flexible within the proximity of this time frame, and will be decided in consultation with the supervisor.
Some programs will require work to be conducted during evenings and weekends throughout the year (10-15% of total work hours).
TRAVEL
Occasional domestic travel (up to 25% of work hours) may be required for meetings and conferences.
MSC reserves the right, at any time, with or without notice, to alter or change job
responsibilities, reassign or transfer job positions, or assign additional job responsibilities.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Temporary hourly non-exempt position with a rate of $18 - $20/hour depending on type of shift (door knocking shift or phone banking shift)
- Weekly hours will not exceed 20 hours.
- The position will last from 9/01/2026 to 11/03/2026.
- As a temporary employee, you are not eligible for healthcare benefits offered by Movement Strategy Center. You will receive all legally mandated benefits, such as workers' compensation, state disability insurance, state unemployment insurance, social security, and sick leave mandated by applicable law.
