Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying coatings, and finishing various interior and exterior projects with precision and professionalism. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly through cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal adhesion of paint or coatings.
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes using hand tools such as brushes and rollers, as well as spray equipment including paint sprayers and conventional spray systems.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface specifications to execute precise painting tasks.
- Use ladder safety protocols effectively when working at heights on structures or ceilings.
- Perform structural painting tasks on various surfaces including stucco, masonry, drywall, and wood framing.
- Conduct surface repairs such as plastering, patching holes, or restoring damaged areas prior to painting.
- Operate power tools safely for surface preparation and coating application while adhering to all safety regulations.
- Select appropriate coatings based on project requirements and color theory principles for aesthetic consistency.
- Assist with renovation projects by installing fixtures, trim carpentry, or performing basic handyman tasks.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling materials and disposing of waste in accordance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings and ensure project specifications are met accurately.
- Follow all safety protocols including the use of respiratory protection and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting, including residential and commercial projects.
- Familiarity with construction site procedures, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Hands-on knowledge of surface preparation techniques such as caulking, sanding, plastering, and masonry work.
- Experience operating hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including both conventional spraying and construction spray painting), and other relevant equipment.
- Understanding of coating types, color theory applications for visual consistency, and surface finishing techniques like brush painting and roller painting.
- Knowledge of safety regulations specific to construction environments with a focus on respiratory protection and hazard mitigation.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and material estimations.
- Previous experience in renovation projects involving fixture installation or restoration work is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent visual color comparison skills for precise color matching.
