Chicago Canine Rescue is seeking a part-time Kennel Technician to maintain daily kennel operations by cleaning, feeding and walking dogs. Kennel work involves a range of physical and mental activities. The successful candidate enjoys being part of a team that works to promote animal health and well-being. The Kennel Technician will ensure our company's reputation is maintained by ensuring that all animals are treated humanely. You should have good communication skills and love dogs! This position is primarily responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility, which will include but are not limited to, providing hands-on care such as walking, bathing, grooming and feeding those animals housed in our facility.
We are looking for someone with evening availability Tuesday through Friday for the 3pm - 8pm shift.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of animal health and welfare by following prescribed procedures, protocols and policies.
- Ensure the cleanliness, maintenance and safe condition of all kennel facilities, equipment and supplies.
- Responsible for handling, feeding and the exercise of all animals.
- Monitor the behavior of animals to identify abnormal conditions and injuries requiring treatment and report to Kennel Lead.
- Administer vaccinations, treatments, and medications approved by Shelter Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to animal health and welfare.
- Assign dog walking volunteers specific dogs for each shift
Pay: From $17.05 per hour
