We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong foundation in meal preparation within the food industry. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly by assisting with food handling, preparation, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients using proper knife skills.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
- Help in the assembly of dishes according to recipes or instructions from the head chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all food safety standards are met.
- Support the catering team during events by preparing large quantities of food as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality of meals.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations is essential.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques are highly desirable.
