Pay: $50,000 base salary + uncapped commission (on-target earnings $80,000–$130,000+; top performers can exceed $150,000)
White Space Chelsea, rooted in Agora Gallery's 30+ year legacy in the heart of Chelsea's gallery district, is more than a venue — it's a platform for creativity, connection, and unforgettable events. Sharing a home with the gallery, we host fashion, art, and high-end brand events in one of New York's most creative corners.
We're looking for an Events & Venue Manager who is first and foremost a relationship-builder and closer — someone who can bring in business, own the client relationship end to end, and make every event feel effortless for the client.
This is a sales- and relationship-led role. You'll oversee and coordinate the details of each event and make sure everything comes together beautifully — but our installation team handles the hands-on technical execution and vendor management on the floor. Your job is to sell the space, take care of the client, and conduct the whole thing so it flows. There's plenty of room to grow for the right person.
What you'll do
- Respond to venue inquiries and turn them into bookings — via email, phone, and online.
- Conduct site visits, virtual walkthroughs, and client meetings, and be the face of the venue.
- Prepare proposals, quotes, contracts, and invoices, and manage bookings, calendars, and holds.
- Own the client relationship through the whole journey — inquiry, booking, planning, event day, and follow-up.
- Coordinate event details with the client and hand them off clearly to our installation team, who manage AV, setup, and vendors on the floor — you oversee and make sure it all lands, you don't rig it yourself.
- Serve as the main client contact on event day, making sure everything flows and the client is happy.
- Actively build relationships with agencies, producers, brands, nonprofits, and corporate clients to generate new business.
- Attend networking events and industry functions to grow the venue's presence and pipeline.
- Keep organized records of bookings, payments, and event details.
Who you are
- Hungry, driven, and motivated by sales — you want your income tied to what you bring in.
- A natural relationship-builder who's outgoing, polished, and comfortable with high-end clients.
- Smart, with strong common sense and sound judgment.
- Organized enough to run multiple events and deadlines without dropping details.
- Experienced in events, venue sales, or hospitality — you understand how events come together (AV, floor plans, timelines, vendors) well enough to coordinate them confidently, even though our team handles execution.
- Ideally, a genuine feel for art and the creative world — an appreciation of art, or your own artistic side, will help you connect with our artists and creative clients.
- Comfortable working occasional evenings and weekends around event schedules.
- Proficient with Google Workspace, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.
What we offer:
- A base salary plus strong, uncapped commission — the more you bring in, the more you earn.
- Plenty of room to grow with us, in an established and respected venue.
- An installation team behind you, so you can focus on clients and sales.
