Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed tractor-trailers on Local, Regional, and over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load and unload freight manually or using appropriate equipment, handling logistics cargo with precision and care
- Secure loads properly on flatbeds, following regulations and safety protocols
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes, monitor traffic conditions, and ensure timely deliveries across multiple destinations
- Transport specialized cargo such as refrigerated trailers, tanker loads, or automobile transportation units with attention to detail and safety
- Conduct pre-trip inspections, routine maintenance checks, and post-trip reports to maintain vehicle safety standards
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or potential issues during transit
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in compliance with FMCSA regulations
Experience
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record
- Proven 2 year experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with flatbed trailers.
- Familiarity with route driving and delivery driving across long distances or OTR routes
- Experience handling freight logistics cargo including hazardous materials (Hazmat), dangerous goods, or tanker loads is highly preferred(not required)
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, manual handling techniques, and load securing methods
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving operations
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and efficiently
- Strong navigation skills using GPS systems to optimize routes and ensure punctual deliveries
- Operating manuel transmission 10, 13, 18 speed
