Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental care team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in oral health practices, patient service, and clinical procedures, with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing preventive dental services, assisting with clinical procedures, and educating patients on maintaining optimal oral health. Your expertise will contribute to creating a welcoming environment that promotes healthy smiles and positive patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of preventive care.
- Take and develop diagnostic radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring patient safety protocols are followed.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems accurately to document patient histories, treatment plans, and clinical notes.
- Monitor patient conditions during procedures and report any changes or concerns promptly.
- Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure the cleanliness of dental instruments and work areas in compliance with health standards.
- Support clinic operations by managing appointment schedules, patient flow, and administrative documentation related to dental care.
- Successful time management for keeping on schedule for the patient's best experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist with knowledge of current dental practices and technologies.
- Certification or licensure as required by the State of New Hampshire
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and clinical procedures.
- Experience with EMR/EHR management systems for accurate record-keeping.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, sterilization techniques, and manual handling procedures in a clinical setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, demonstrating excellent client communication skills.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification including CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
- Familiarity with diagnostic radiology techniques, Itero scanners is a plus
