Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Slip Seat Driver to operate 53-foot dry van trailers. This position requires flexibility and professionalism, as drivers will be assigned trucks on an as-needed basis and must be available to work any day of the week. Routes may vary and include OTR, regional, and local deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a 53-foot dry van in compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment
- Transport freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (E-logs) and required documentation
- Utilize company-issued iPad or similar device for route management, communication, and logging
- Adapt to varying routes, schedules, and equipment as part of a slip seat operation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding load status and any issues
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience
- Must be available to work any day of the week on an as-needed basis
- Proven experience operating 53-foot dry van trailers
- Ability to perform OTR, regional, and local routes as assigned
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards
- Proficient in using an iPad
- Experience maintaining accurate E-logs
- Clean MVR & Safety Report
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules
Note: This is an on-call position with no guaranteed set schedule. Candidates must be highly flexible and ready to work when needed.
Pay: $0.52 - $0.57 per mile
