Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate 18+ to join us In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing transactions accurately, and assisting customers with product inquiries and purchases, and restocking shelves, and relaying what we are out of in the store. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and experience in retail sales. Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process customer transactions with accuracy and speed
- Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods while maintaining proper cash handling procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections
- Conduct product demos and upsell items to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management including stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming for customers
- Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cashiering procedures
- Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and retail math calculations
- Experience in retail sales, upselling techniques, and product demonstration
- Knowledge of merchandising and stocking practices in a grocery
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of tobacco products
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
