Position Overview
We are seeking results-driven Business Development Associates to join our expanding sales team. In this role, you will be on the front lines of our growth strategy—identifying, qualifying, and engaging prospective customers, building strong relationships, and driving new business opportunities for our flexible packaging solutions.
You will work collaboratively with internal subject-matter experts and senior leadership to build a healthy sales pipeline, achieve customer acquisition goals, and lead long-term client retention and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Research and identify new business opportunities within target segments (e.g., flexible packaging converters, laminators, packaging buyers, food service brands, industrial customers).
- Conduct outbound cold calls, personalized emails, and social outreach to initiate contact with prospective customers.
- Qualify inbound inquiries and convert them into meaningful sales opportunities.
Customer Engagement & Acquisition
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective customers.
- Understand customer packaging needs and articulate how our hybrid packaging solutions create value and solve customer challenges.
- Drive initial discovery conversations and set appointments or demos for senior sales or technical specialists.
Sales Pipeline Management and Reporting
- Maintain accurate, timely records of all outreach activities, leads, and customer interactions in the CRM.
- Monitor and forecast pipeline metrics to achieve weekly, quarterly, and annual business development goals.
- Present frequent updates and reports to management (weekly, monthly, and annually).
Market Intelligence
- Stay up-to-date on packaging trends, market dynamics, competitor activity, and industry shifts to better position our solutions.
- Provide feedback to marketing and product teams that helps refine outbound campaigns and offerings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations to ensure seamless engagement and follow-through on pricing, proposals, and technical solution delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in B2B sales, lead generation, or business development (packaging industry experience a plus).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey product value and build customer rapport.
- Comfortable owning the sales process end-to-end with minimal supervision; entrepreneurial mindset with strong self-motivation.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed targets in a performance-based compensation model.
- Proficiency with CRM tools such as HubSpot and standard business software such Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and organized with strong time management skills.
- Ability to manage your schedule and travel as needed for customer meetings, trade shows, and territory coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 -3 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or packaging supply sales.
- Strong analytical skills and a consultative approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to handle fast-paced outreach and adapt to evolving priorities.
