About the Role
The Broker & Sales Support Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for prospective members and broker partners in a fast-paced call center environment. This role is responsible for educating consumers about Medicare and Individual health insurance products, answering benefit and enrollment questions, and referring qualified prospects to licensed brokers when appropriate. The position also provides operational and service support to broker partners while ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with CMS, Medicare, and HIPAA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound calls from prospective members and broker partners.
- Educate consumers on Medicare and Individual health insurance plans.
- Answer questions related to benefits, eligibility, and enrollment.
- Refer qualified prospects to licensed brokers when appropriate.
- Support broker partners with operational and service-related inquiries.
- Maintain compliance with CMS, Medicare, HIPAA, and company policies.
- Accurately document customer interactions using CRM and related systems.
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in health insurance, Medicare sales support, broker support, customer service, or a call center environment.
- Experience working with Medicare and/or Individual health insurance products.
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume phone queue in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office, CRM systems, and customer service platforms.
- Active Idaho Resident Health Insurance License (required at the time of hire).
- Ability to complete and maintain all required Medicare, compliance, and product training.
