JOB OVERVIEW: The purpose of this position is to provide epidemiological expertise. The role involves assisting with policy development, strategic planning, data analysis to assess systemic issues and improve community resources and service delivery. Responsibilities include conducting staff meetings, identifying trends and risk factors, and contributing to the development of strategies of the department. The responsibilities will also include datal analysis for data related to fetal and infant deaths and maternal and infant health outcomes. This work is performed under the direction of the Assistant Director-Public Health.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to fetal and infant deaths.
- Identify patterns, trends, and risk factors to inform public health strategies.
- Program Evaluation and Improvement:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of current public health programs.
- Develop and recommend improvements to enhance service delivery and community resources.
- Community and Department Engagement and Education:
- Develop and deliver presentation, reports, and educational materials.
- Provide guidance and education to staff and the community on risk factors and prevention methods.
- Review and update department policies for review by the Department Management Team and the Department Director.
- Review and update the department strategic plan:
- Coordinate review with Department staff.
- Coordinate and review input session and outcome development.
- Develops presentations and trainings for staff and the community on communicable diseases, epidemiology, health topics, strategic planning, and health policies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education
- Master's Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, Health Care Administration or other related biological or biostatistics science.
- Job Experience
- Minimum two (2) years professional experience in Public Health, Epidemiology, or Emergency Management - including one (1) year in an administrative, supervisory, or instructional capacity.
