Description:
All Day Medical Care is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing & Collections Specialist to oversee both medical billing and accounts receivable collections. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate claim submission, timely reimbursement, follow-up on unpaid claims, patient account resolution, and collection of outstanding balances while providing excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, knowledgeable in medical billing, insurance regulations, and collections, and is committed to maximizing revenue while maintaining positive patient relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Billing
- Submit accurate electronic and paper claims to commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Review claims for completeness and accuracy before submission.
- Correct claim errors and resubmit denied or rejected claims.
- Post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient payments.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits when necessary.
- Process refunds and account corrections as appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with payer policies and billing regulations.
Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Monitor aging reports and prioritize outstanding balances.
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding unpaid or underpaid claims.
- Contact patients regarding outstanding balances professionally and compassionately.
- Establish payment plans when appropriate.
- Document all collection activity within the EMR/practice management system.
- Escalate accounts requiring legal or third-party collection review.
- Resolve billing disputes and payment discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing and collections experience.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding preferred.
- Experience billing Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
- Understanding of explanation of benefits (EOBs) and remittance advice.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology.
- Experience with EMR and medical billing software (InSync experience preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Behavioral health or multi-specialty billing experience.
- Experience managing high-volume accounts receivable.
- Bilingual (Spanish or another commonly spoken language) is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
