Travel CT Technologist - CT Scan

Job Details

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with ARRT registration and current BLS certification for a 13-week hospital assignment.

Hospital-based CT Scan unit
Days/Evenings shift schedule
40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on departmental needs
Uses Cerner for charting
Potential to float to a sister hospital nearby

ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology required; ARRT registration in CT preferred
Active SC or compact license required, if applicable
Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
High school diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Allied Health program preferred
Completion of an accredited Computed Tomography Program preferred
One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
Ability to perform and teach CT exams to produce diagnostic quality images preferred
Must be able to frequently stand, walk, and lift/move patients, with intermittent lifting up to 50 lbs
Requires frequent reaching, fine motor dexterity, and corrected hearing/vision within normal range
Must be able to work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours

Produce computerized tomography radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered by physicians to assist in diagnosis of disease or injury
Assist radiologists with procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists as assigned
Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures using age-appropriate care techniques
Instruct and prepare patients for procedures, assist with informed consent, and communicate discharge instructions to families
Accurately enter orders, diagnoses, and clinical history into the computer system and communicate effectively with radiologists
Follow radiation safety protocols in accordance with ALARA principles and adhere to DHEC, TJC, and hospital safety policies
Support departmental goals and maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information
Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date, followed by a required 30-60 day break before starting a new assignment
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
