We are actively recruiting Registered Nurses (RN) for full-time, 13- and 26-week contract positions at state-operated adult correctional facilities in Chesapeake, Virginia and Capron, Virginia. Your expertise and leadership will help ensure high-quality care for those in need.
Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment in accordance with the terms of their contract.
Job Details:
- 13- and 26-week contracts (with opportunities for contract renewals)
- Full-time schedules are either 36 or 40 hours depending on the facility
- Day shift and night shift positions are available
Chesapeake Facility Schedules:
36-hour schedule
- Three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
- Day shift position (6:00a- 6:30p)
- Night shift position (6:00p- 6:30a)
40-hour schedule
- Five 8-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
- Night shift position (11:00p- 7:00a)
Capron Facility Schedule:
36-hour schedule
- Three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
- Night shift position (7:00p - 7:30a)
License and Credentials Requirements:
- Current Virginia or compact RN license
- Current CPR Certification, BLS - American Heart Association
- Current PPD
Primary Job Duties:
- Conduct health assessments and sick call for inmates
- Administer medications and treatments
- Provide health education and counseling
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals
- Monitor inmate health
- Treat inmate health conditions and injuries
- Supervise nursing assistants
