Duties
- Safely operate shuttle trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles to transport freight and equipment.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or manual methods while adhering to safety protocols.
- Drive route-specific schedules with precision, ensuring on-time pickups and deliveries across designated locations.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to verify safety standards and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, cargo details, delivery times, and route information for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and others.
- Assist with special transportation needs such as hauling refrigerated goods or specialized freight like tanker loads or flatbed cargo.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers or dump trucks.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks with confidence and safety awareness.
- Familiarity with handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of route planning, load securing techniques, and freight handling procedures.
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or manual methods while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent driving record with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Physical stamina for long hours on the road and the ability to perform vehicle inspections or cargo handling tasks as needed.
