Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure that electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments, ensuring adherence to NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on construction sites or during renovation projects.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently.
- Install and maintain low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other automation components integral to industrial operations.
- Follow all electrical safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to complete projects on time while maintaining high-quality standards.
Skills
- Proven experience as an electrician in industrial and commercial settings with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems.
- Extensive knowledge of local electrical codes, NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 compliance requirements, and blueprint reading.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting electrical systems, and performing repairs using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams accurately for installation or repair work.
- Experience working with high-voltage wiring safely in accordance with industry standards.
- Familiarity with low voltage systems including automation controls such as PLCs.
- Construction site experience with the ability to adapt quickly to renovation or new build environments while maintaining safety protocols.
