Production/Blending Technician (1st Shift)
Starting Pay Rate $26.00-$28.00 based on experience
Shift 6:00 AM-4:30 PM Monday- Thursday
MISSION:
To provide high quality batch mixtures in a safe and timely manner. To demonstrate ownership of water-based chemistry from batch formulation through packaging.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience:
- 2-5 years industrial mixing/blending experience in a chemical facility
- Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Skills:
- Ability to perform English-to-Metric conversions, read, write, perform basic math, and thoroughly follow mixing procedures
- Ability to understand chemical batch formulation and packaging.
- Use of forklift – Certification required once hired.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately
- Detail oriented
- Safety and Quality minded
- Be responsible and personally accountable for own work
- Be able to work with others and independently.
- Must be able to multi-task (work on multiple mixing batches at the same time without negatively affecting quality.)
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
- Able to operate and learn packaging equipment
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform mixing duties as required, while being compliant to all safety rules, regulations and procedures.
- Load batches from totes, drums and water lines
- Conduct proper scanning procedures to maintain proper and accurate inventory records where applicable.
- Sample batches and drums.
- Coordination with material expediters to deliver raw materials and finished goods to intended locations.
- Comply with ISO mixing procedures.
- Manage flush drums to use material properly.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Accurately complete required paperwork for mixing records.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Participation in the CRC Spill Team, respirator fit testing required
- Receive initial HAZWOPER training and process qualifications and maintain upon successful completion.
- Operate and perform basic troubleshooting on packaging equipment including bottle filler, bottle labeler, bottle capper, and case packer.
- Operation of pumps, HMI’s and an understanding of safety systems and interlocks.
- Move and handle 55-gallon drums (weighing up to 650 lbs./ea.).
- Follow all ISO Procedures and Safety Rules – without exception.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
CRC Industries, Inc. facilities receive, blend, and package mixtures of chemicals. The facilities are regulated for the flammable substances onsite and utilize multiple safety features including engineering controls such as fail-safe devices, exhaust and ventilation systems, fire safety systems, automatic shutoff systems, and gas detection systems, as well as administrative controls and personal protective equipment.
