Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in surgical procedures, patient care, and hospital operations, with experience in various clinical settings including eyes. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting surgical teams by preparing operating rooms, assisting during procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and infection control. Candidate will also be responsible to maintain instrumentation of surgical instruments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are meticulously followed.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical equipment with precision.
- Monitor vital signs and physiological parameters of patients before, during, and after surgery to ensure stability and safety.
- Collect and document data related to patient conditions, surgical procedures, and postoperative recovery using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination and promote a sterile environment throughout all phases of patient care.
- Demonstrate proficiency in anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and medical terminology to assist effectively in surgical cases.
- Participate in ongoing training related to emergency medicine procedures, suturing techniques, vital signs monitoring, and infection control practices.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by analyzing clinical data and assisting in compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Surgical Technician.
- Demonstrated proficiency in OR experience, including instrument handling, suturing skills, and aseptic technique adherence.
- Knowledge of vital signs assessment, physiology concepts, anatomy details and infection prevention measures.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems for accurate documentation of patient data and medical records.
- Excellent analysis skills for monitoring patient responses during procedures and identifying potential complications early on.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety standards.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within the team.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
