JOB SUMMARY:
The Billing Specialist-Secondary is responsible for submitting secondary claims electronically and also the printing and mailing of paper claims, both primary and secondary, to include medical records as needed. Claims and edits will be worked through our host system (Cerner) as well as the clearinghouse (Finthrive). Due to the nature of this position, there is not a remote option. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Hospital Billing Experience Preferred

High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Coordinate all documentation to ensure accurate billing such as paper claims requiring additional forms and/or records.

Daily review and research of all claim edits assigned in the individual biller’s queues.

Communication with other revenue departments and clinical areas to ensure accurate and compliant billing.

Maintain audit standards at 80% or higher.

Maintain productivity goals as outlined.

Closely monitors claim patterns and volumes and alerts management of any identified trends.

Coordinate with other areas to verify work comp billing info is accurate.

Monitors queues and works reports as assigned by manager.

Assists with special projects, participation in team huddles and other duties as requested by management.

Exhibits competency in ensuring compliance with established local, state and federal law regulations.
