Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management procedures, including aseptic techniques and dental sterilization protocols.
- Assist dentists during chairside procedures by handing instruments, managing dental materials, and ensuring patient comfort through effective communication.
- Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture accurate medical imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records accurately.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient inquiries, and coordinating with the dental receptionist to streamline clinic operations.
- Ensure all dental equipment is functioning properly, perform routine maintenance checks, and assist in the setup of specialized tools for procedures like oral surgery or prosthodontics.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Proficiency in dental x-ray techniques, including taking intraoral and extraoral images while adhering to radiation safety standards.
- Knowledge of infection control practices including sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards.
- Ability to operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners, endodontic tools, prosthodontic devices, and other clinical instruments effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment; experience supporting pediatric dentistry or oral surgery is advantageous.
- Certification in radiography or X-ray licensing preferred; ongoing training in medical coding or medical documentation is beneficial.

Pay: $29.26 - $35.24 per hour
