Part Time: 3 - 8 hour shifts three days a week
Job Description for Restorative Therapy Aide / CNA:
The Restorative Therapy Aide is responsible for coordinating restorative care to assist residents in attaining or maintaining the highest level of physical functioning possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Restorative Therapy Aide / CNA:
- Evaluate and document the effectiveness of restorative care received by the resident.
- Plan, organize, implement and evaluate restorative services for residents.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of restorative service assessments and services.
- Attend care plan conferences.
- Possess and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of safe, restorative nursing care practices.
- Able to verbalize and demonstrate appropriate knowledge of good body mechanics.
- Reports to the Therapy Department any adverse conditions experienced by the resident during the provision of restorative nursing care.
- Monitor and assist with the performance of Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) to promote resident involvement.
- Evaluate and document the resident’s progress and communicates results to the DON and seeks input and supervision to confirm findings.
- Note any unusual changes in resident’s condition and report to nursing staff.
- Attend all mandatory in-services and participate in other in-services offered.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Restorative Aide / CNA Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Must have valid Certified Nursing Assistant license (CNA)
- Two years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Restorative certification preferred, but not necessary
- Knowledge of safety and accident prevention
- Basic computer skills to access and update resident records
