Duties
- Assist residents or clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed care plans under supervision
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary
- Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and facilitate safe patient transfers using proper manual handling techniques
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met
- Provide emotional support and engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely, monitor vital signs, and recognize signs of distress or deterioration
- Experience working with individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous
- Knowledge of care procedures such as patient transfer methods, medication administration, CPR/First Aid certification, and HIPAA compliance is beneficial
- Familiarity with creating and following personalized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility using appropriate techniques and equipment
