Job Description:
A premier Senior Living community is seeking a reliable and skilled Handy-Person - Maintenance Technician to help maintain our community, equipment, and grounds and overall safety measures. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
The ideal candidate will have experience with general building maintenance, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, plumbing, and mechanical repairs and many other handyman skills.
Job Responsibilities:
· Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, systems, and buildings.
· Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
· Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
· Read and interpret schematics, manuals, and diagrams to diagnose maintenance issues.
· Conduct regular inspections of the facility and identify maintenance concerns proactively.
· Perform minor carpentry, painting, and fabrication work as needed.
· Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.
· Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
· Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
· Collaborate with facility staff and outside contractors to complete maintenance projects efficiently.
· Be available to assist in emergency situations
· As a part of our team, be available, able and willing to assist with residents needs for assistance as able.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in building maintenance, facility maintenance, or a related field preferred.
· Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
· Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Technical certifications or vocational training are a plus.
· Experience in healthcare, senior living, or residential facilities is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
· In addition to regular schedule, available for occasional on-call responsibilities for maintenance emergencies.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
· Requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing ladders.
· Exposure to various weather conditions when performing outdoor maintenance tasks.
· May require working around mechanical equipment, chemicals, and maintenance tools.
