Responsibilities
- Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs continuously to assess labor progress and detect any complications early.
- Assist with labor management, including administering medications such as epidurals or analgesics, and supporting natural or assisted deliveries.
- Prepare delivery rooms with sterile techniques, ensuring all equipment is ready for safe procedures.
- Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families throughout labor and postpartum stages.
- Perform neonatal resuscitation procedures when necessary, ensuring immediate care for newborns.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or Epic.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive maternity care.

- Orientation: Every MondayShift & Scheduling: - Nights 6p-6a Days 6a-6pWeekend Requirement: 3 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule minimum. Some like to work all weekends and others don't like to work them at all. As long as it's covered, it really doesn't matter to me.Floating Requirement: - May float to ED or MS if experiencedRequired certifications: - ACLS, BLS, NRP, Intermediate or advanced Fetal Monitoring Required# of beds -- 7 L&D beds- 2 Triage beds- 10 Postpartum beds- 1-3 births per day- 830 births per yearRatios typically 1:2Exp or Must have skills- 2 years of experience required- Respiratory Therapist in unit 24/7- Support staff on unit: Patient Care Technician, Health Unit Secretary- Nurse manager occasionally see patients (when needed)- Need experience with:- 3+ years of experience required- C-section experience required- Support staff on unit: OB scrub tech, HUC- Call: one shift per 4 week schedule- OB/Neonatologist not in house- 24/7 pharmacy in house- Must be proficient in fetal monitoring and the actions taken for fetal distress.- Must be able to care for patients with pre-eclampsia- Clinical background in high risk patients. Since there is NOT an in-house OB, so the nurses need to be very proficient with their assessment skills and be able to handle OB emergencies until the provider arrives.- May float to other units of hospital (usually MedSurg) if needed- Must be able to function in L&D and couplet care (they don't always utilize their LDRPs as couplet care beds, but can do so if census is low).$5000 bonus payable on first check usually
- If we pay for relocation assistance, you commit to us for a year, if you leave before that year, then you are responsible to pay it back.$5000 payable after 90 days, $5000 payable after 12 months

Pay: $32.00 - $48.00 per hour
