Responsible for creation and implementation of the Company’s human resources strategies with its overall business objectives. The primary responsibility of the role is to lead the department’s functional operations, including talent acquisition, development, and retention, HRIS, employee relations, labor relations and compliance in North America. This role will act as the corporate HR business partner to business leaders and the executive team while providing guidance and support to local HR teams as necessary.
This role will have an element of global HR oversight for all locations in the Company and will be responsible for the alignment of HR strategies globally and benefits/compensation on a globally basis.
This role will develop HR policies and programs and continuously evaluates ways to improve efficiencies of the HR function.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
- Provides strategic HR leadership by translating the company's vision, business objectives, and growth strategy into actionable workforce plans that align talent, organizational capabilities, and business priorities to drive sustainable performance and long-term success
- Aligns with executive leadership and rolls out global HR programs, such as succession planning, people development strategies and effective talent acquisition methods in support of Company’s overall people strategy
- Leads organizational design, talent/succession planning, and change management initiatives to ensure the organization is positioned for long-term success
- Drives the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR processes, programs, and solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness, strengthen leadership capability, and support employee engagement and business performance
- Provides timely guidance, coaching, and conflict resolution support to the HR Business Partners and local leaders when addressing employee relations matters, ensuring consistent application of company policies, compliance with employment laws, and mitigation of organizational risk.
- Establishes and continuously evaluates HR / employment policies that ensure compliance with all federal, state and/or local country labor laws to mitigate legal and financial risks
- Serves as primary contact for talent acquisition for the U.S.
- Provides KPI reports to executive management, including turnover rates, employee engagement trends, labor costs, benefit costs and any other data/information required by leadership to help guide business decisions and improvements
- Provides guidance regarding labor relations/union issues as needed
- Partners with global HR, local leaders and the executive team to address organizational issues and provides insights and recommendations to new or improved approaches to business challenges
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organizational Development/Industrial Relations required. PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- 3+ years with global HR exposure / oversight
- Exceptional business acumen, strong conflict resolution, deep understanding of employment law (US and different countries) and the ability to coach and influence from front line employee to C Suite executives
- Excellent communication skills.
