Job Summary
Metal decking drafter plays a critical role in delivering quality structural decking solutions as part of a fast-paced, collaborative team. As a key contributor, this individual will be responsible for developing precise for-construction placement layouts and shop drawings for projects across the state, directly impacting successful field execution.
In this role, you won’t just be drafting—you’ll be driving projects forward. You’ll create detailed plans used in the field, generate accurate bills of material for procurement, and work side-by-side with project managers to ensure projects are executed efficiently and on schedule. Your work will be essential to keeping operations smooth from design through installation.

Duties
- Design and create precise steel decking shop drawings per company standards using AutoCAD.
- Full command of AutoCAD version 2024 or later.
- Understanding of construction document and production drawings.
- Locate, interpret, and integrate design information from multiple sources.
- Analyze design revisions/clarifications and incorporate changes into shop drawings.
- Create detailed bills of material for component fabrication.
- Collaborate with Project Manager in generating and tracking RFI’s needed to clarify design requirements.
- Knowledge of structural steel/metal deck assemblies and construction techniques or related field.
- 2-years professional experience in a structural/architectural design or construction firm a strong plus.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
