This role requires mechanical knowledge and proficiency in using hand tools including MIG welding with aluminum and steel. The Aluminum Fabricator will be responsible for ensuring that all work meets standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Position Summary
The Aluminum Welder is responsible for performing high-quality aluminum welding and fabrication work in support of production needs. This role requires strong welding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications while maintaining Evans Equipment & Environmental’s craftsmanship standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG aluminum welding on a variety of parts, components, and assemblies.
- Fabricate and assemble aluminum structures according to engineering drawings and work orders.
- Inspect welds to ensure they meet company standards for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, or shaping aluminum components as required.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, brakes, and other shop tools.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment in compliance with company safety policies.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors,and team members to meet production deadlines.
- Identify and communicate material issues, design concerns, or fabrication challenges.
- Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of aluminum welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in MIG welding aluminum
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and production drawings.
- Strong understanding of welding symbols, joint preparation, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to measure accurately with tape measures, squares, calipers, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Work Environment
- Shop environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and fabrication machinery.
- Required use of PPE including welding hoods, gloves, eye protection, and steel-toe boots. (Candidate to provide own welding helmet and shoes - Company to provide uniforms including pants, FR branded shirts, safety glasses, and gloves)
