Big Spring State Hospital - Registered Dietitian
Duties of the Dietitian:
- Provide nutrition services for Big Spring State Hospital patients.
- Complete nutritional assessments, provide consultations, education, and other nutritional services as assigned.
- Analyze patients’ health status, goals, dietary restrictions, and track dietary intake and progress.
- Consult with patients, families, and the treatment team regarding nutrition needs.
- Complete electronic medical record documentation.
- Provide nutrition information to the Food Service Director/Managers.
- Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for accrediting agencies;
Specifically, Joint Commission guidelines, CMS Standards, BSH Policy and Directives, and HHSC
Standards, Rules, and Directives
Job Requirements for all candidates:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a BS in Dietetics and or Nutrition
- Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the National Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics
- Must be a Licensed Dietitian (LD) with the State Of Texas
- Must possess excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate with Physicians, staff, patients, and patients’ families
- Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements
- Must submit to the HHSC required drug test
- Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting
- Must complete facility and HHSC required training
Requested Schedule:
Dietitian will typically work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Mon-Fri), but shift patterns are subject to change as determined by the Clinical Nutrition Director to meet the needs of the hospital.
Option to telework available.
