Grand Design Kitchens is seeking experienced Cabinet Installers / Finish Carpenters to join our team for an upcoming federal project at Fort Irwin, California, beginning in August.
This is a Davis-Bacon prevailing wage position offering competitive compensation and the opportunity to work on a high-profile military installation. This position is covered by the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA). The DBA is a federal law that establishes prevailing wages for laborers and mechanics on covered contracts. The prevailing wages are set forth in the applicable wage determination issued by the U.S. Department of Labor for the specific project location and type of work being performed.

Responsibilities
- Install cabinetry in new construction housing units at Fort Irwin Military Base
- Perform clean, accurate, and high-quality installations
- Work collaboratively with the installation team to meet production schedules and deadlines
- Maintain professional jobsite standards and attention to detail
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of cabinet installation experience
- Ability to complete one unit per day (average of 12 cabinets per unit)
- Strong finish carpentry and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working in high-temperature conditions
- Reliable transportation and personal installation tools required
- Strong work ethic, professionalism, and team mentality
- This is a non-union position.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Proof of medical insurance
- Clean criminal background (no felony convictions)
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Physically capable of performing all required job duties
- Must be willing to travel to San Diego for a test installation prior to project start
Federal Project Requirements
Employment is contingent upon:
- Verification of authorization to work in the United States
- Successful completion of required background screening
- Approval and authorization for access to Fort Irwin Military Base
Due to the nature of this federal project, additional screening requirements may apply. Final base access determinations are made exclusively by federal authorities and are outside the control of Grand Design Kitchens.
