Thank you so much for your interest in joining Dancy Perinatal Counseling. We are honored by your consideration and excited to connect with California registered associate therapists who share our vision.
Our team is more than a group of clinicians; we are a movement. Our mission is to elevate the standard of perinatal mental health care across the nation, offering thoughtful, trauma-informed, and specialized care to individuals and families during one of the most vulnerable and transformative times in their lives.
We believe therapy during the perinatal period is sacred work. It calls for clinicians who are compassionate, curious, and committed not only to helping clients heal but also to shaping the systems that serve them.

What We’re Looking For:
We are currently seeking California Registered Associate Therapists who are:
- Early in their hours (<50% of hours complete) and looking for a placement commitment for the duration of their hours.
- Passionate about perinatal mental health, whether through lived experience or clinical focus
- Warm, grounded, and excellent communicators (especially via email, where much client contact begins)
- Eager to grow professionally, we offer lots of training for new clinicians!
- Maybe even a desire to eventually contribute beyond 1:1 client care (e.g., developing groups, workshops, writing, mentoring, or training)
- Enthusiastic about collaborative learning, regular feedback, and deepening their clinical craft
- Comfortable navigating telehealth platforms and clinical documentation systems
- Willing to commit to a minimum of 15 clients weekly, offering regular scheduling availability which includes one evening or one weekend to accommodate working families.
- Can commit to monthly trainings that take place on Tuesdays at 2pm (pacific time)
- Can commit to weekly group supervision offered Thursdays 9-11am (pacific time)
We’d Love to Learn More About You
Please include your application with your answers to the questions below. There is no need for a separate formal cover letter - just a direct and thoughtful reply is perfect.
- What drew you to apply to our team? (We’d love to hear anything personal or professional that connects you to perinatal work.)
- Tell us about any experience you have — professional or personal — with perinatal mental health. (Training, lived experience, or even the desire to develop this specialty are all welcome.)
- What are you hoping to find in a clinical team and supervisor relationship?
- What are your long-term hopes for your role as a therapist? (Would you be interested in growing into teaching, mentoring, writing, or running perinatal groups one day?)
- Our goal is to raise the national standard of perinatal mental health care. What does that mean to you? What are the opportunities for improvement that you see?
- What are your clinical strengths? What kinds of clients or cases do you feel most confident working with right now?
- What areas of growth are you most interested in developing?
- Lastly, just for fun: What’s a book, podcast, or quote that’s meant a lot to you recently; personally or professionally?
