Central York School District (CYSD) is looking for a part-time Cook/Cashier to join Roundtown Elementary School food service team for the 2026/2027 school year! Job Summary:
Assist with the preparation, serving and cleanup of the school breakfast and/or lunch program. Create an environment that produces a satisfying school experience as well as a professional image of the school while providing a well-balanced student breakfast and lunch program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare food in accordance with established procedures and direction of the Head Cook.

Assist the Head Cook in estimating the quantities of food to students and staff.

Actively participate in the serving of food to students and staff.

Assist and participate in the necessary cleanup of all cafeteria-related areas.

Maintain and practice required standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

Become knowledgeable about the overall operation to insure continuity and consistency of service in the event of personnel absence.

Demonstrate a working knowledge of safe operation of all kitchen equipment.

Interact with students and staff in a courteous and positive manner.

Actively participate in activities designed to improve the school lunch program.

Perform other duties reasonably related to the Food Services function as assigned by the Head Cook, Principal and/or Food Service Director.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required)

Knowledge in the food service industry with an understanding of nutrition, sanitation and food safety is preferred

ServSafe preferred
-
Cooking experience preferred

General working knowledge of computers preferred

Strong Math skills preferred
-
Must demonstrate the ability to be highly structured and organized & have good communication skills

Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Criminal History Background clearances within the past twelve (12) months.
Hourly Rate:
$14.40-$19.15
*Step placement shall be based on years of service recognized by employer*
