Courtesy Auto Repair is looking for an experienced automotive technician to join our
team in Ellsworth. We are a well-established independent shop serving Pierce County
with a loyal, growing customer base. This is a full-time position for someone who can
work independently, handle a wide variety of repair and diagnostic work, and contribute
to a shop that takes quality seriously.
The Role
You will be handling a broad range of repair and diagnostic work with minimal
supervision. The shop runs a steady volume of vehicles covering all makes and models,
and we need someone who can manage their own bay, work through diagnostic
problems efficiently, and produce quality repairs that come back done right.
Day-to-day work includes:
- Diagnostic work — drivability, electrical, check engine, no-start, and emissions-
related concerns
- Brakes, suspension, and steering repairs
- Engine and cooling system repairs
- A/C diagnosis and service (608 certification preferred)
- Exhaust, drivetrain, and general mechanical repairs
- Assisting and mentoring the general service tech as needed
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair across multiple vehicle systems without
supervision
- Proficiency with scan tools and diagnostic software (Snap-on, Autel, or
equivalent)
- ASE certifications preferred — A4 (Suspension/Steering), A5 (Brakes), A6
(Electrical), and A8 (Engine Performance) are most relevant to this role
- Strong working knowledge of OBD-II systems, wiring diagrams, and electrical
diagnosis
- Own hand tools required; specialty tools provided by the shop
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Schedule and Pay
- Monday through Friday — no weekends
- $22–$30/hour based on experience and certifications
- Pay structure (hourly or flat rate) negotiable based on experience and preference
Why Courtesy Auto
We are an independent shop — which means you are not stuck working a single brand,
grinding through warranty time, or dealing with dealer politics. Our techs work on a wide
variety of vehicles, which keeps the work interesting and your diagnostic skills sharp.
We have a stable customer base, consistent car count, and a team that works well
together. If you are a technician who takes pride in your work and wants to be
somewhere that respects that, we would like to talk.
