Ami Ami is an independently owned European-inspired café, restaurant, bookstore and gallery opening on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables.
We are currently in the final stages of pre-opening, with opening anticipated within the next one to two months. We are seeking an Operations Manager who can start immediately and help guide the business through this exciting final phase and into ongoing operations after launch.
This is a full-time salaried leadership position and not a consulting, contract, or temporary opening role. We are looking for someone who is excited to become part of Ami Ami's long-term future and grow alongside the business.
Pre-Opening Responsibilities
- Organize and document front-of-house SOPs
- Develop training systems and onboarding materials
- Assist with hiring and staffing
- Coordinate kitchen hiring and onboarding efforts with our kitchen consultant
- Set up inventory, receiving and ordering systems
- Organize storage and operational workflows throughout the café
- Create opening, closing and daily operating checklists
- Assist with inspection readiness and operational setup
- Coordinate vendors, deliveries and operational logistics
- Work directly with ownership to prepare for launch
- Help execute a successful opening
Ongoing Responsibilities After Opening
- Oversee daily operations
- Lead and support the front-of-house team
- Maintain service standards and guest experience
- Ensure ongoing compliance with health, sanitation, food safety, licensing and operational standards
- Prepare for and manage routine inspections while maintaining a clean, organized and code-compliant operation
- Continue improving systems and procedures
- Assist with scheduling, staffing and team development
- Help drive the continued growth of the business
Qualifications
- Restaurant, café, hospitality or retail management experience
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Comfortable balancing operational, administrative and team responsibilities
- Experience participating in a restaurant or café opening is preferred
