Plant Manager
The Plant Manager is responsible for the safe manufacturing of high-quality products in an efficient, productive and cost effective manner while being highly customer service oriented internally and externally. The Plant Manager also provides leadership, coaching and development to his/her direct reports (Production, Maintenance & Administration) to promote the core values and support the achievement of the company objectives. The Plant Manager plays a key role in defining and exemplifying the performance culture of the plant and inspiring all plant employees in the achievement of greater results. The Plant Manager will ensure the various functions of the operations group interact cohesively to meet the overall goals of the corporation. This individual will also provide clear direction and leadership to the production supervisors through goal setting and timely feedback. Must maintain a clear focus on the tactical & strategic plans of the facility and ensure that they are closely aligned with corporate goals and objectives.
Job Description
- Lead all day-to-day manufacturing and shop operations.
- Supervise Mechanical Assembly, Electrical Assembly, and Shop Support teams.
- Oversee production scheduling, labor planning, and workflow management.
- Ensure products are assembled, tested, documented, and delivered on time and in accordance with company quality standards.
- Partner with Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing, Inventory, and Field Service to ensure successful project execution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce costs.
- Develop, coach, and mentor production personnel and team leads.
- Remove manufacturing bottlenecks and improve shop efficiency.
- Monitor KPIs, labor utilization, production schedules, and manufacturing performance.
- Support prototype builds, design improvements, and new product introductions.
- Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and workmanship standards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a:
- Manufacturing Manager
- Production Manager
- Plant Manager
- Operations Manager (Manufacturing)
- Director of Manufacturing role.
- Proven experience leading manufacturing teams in an industrial environment.
- Experience managing production schedules, labor planning, and manufacturing operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Demonstrated success improving manufacturing performance through process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and project management teams
- Experience manufacturing:
- Switchgear
- Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
- Generator systems
- Control panels
- Electrical power distribution equipment
- Engineered industrial products
